The Piscataquis Regional YMCA will again be hosting an ATV Safety Course with the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife on Saturday, April 21 from 8:30am to 3:30pm that includes a one hour lunch break. There is a Subway, McDonald’s, Dunkin Donuts, AE Robinson Convenience Store, and Mountains Market Deli all within two miles of the Piscataquis Regional YMCA. The cost is $10 per person with 10-12 year old’s needing a parent present and 13-18 year old’s needing a parent signature to attend the course. Cancellations must be received within 7 days of the course in order to receive a full refund. The class is limited to 25 participants and registration will be open on March 1. Participation in an ATV safety course will teach how to properly operate and maintain an ATV. The laws, responsibilities and personal safety will also be covered. Passage of a final exam is required and you must attend the class in order to receive your certificate.

- Proper Operation and Safety (Riding Skill-Equipment-Maintenance) = 2 Hours
- Laws = 1/2 Hour
- Emergencies & Survival = 40 Minutes
- Map & Compass = 1 Hour
- Self Help First Aid = 20 Minutes
- Environmental/Landowner/Ethics = 1 1/2 Hours
